Our History

I Choose Life – Africa began as a Community Based 0rganisation (CBO) in June, 2003 and was registered in December, 2004 as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). Since then, ICL has played a leading role in prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), provision of care and support services and mitigation of socio-economic impact of HIV and AIDS among youth, Most-at-Risk Populations (MARPS), and other general populations.

Up to September 2012, the organization has been guided by the vision of "An AIDS-free Africa" and has existed to ‘create a movement of caring communities among youth that make responsible and informed choices with regard to life and HIV and AIDS through prevention, care and support and mitigation of the socio-economic impact’.
