I Choose Life – Africa (ICL), headquartered in Kenya, is a youth-focused organization that seeks to empower youth in Kenya and across Africa as the foundation for sustainable development. Driven by, “Healthy Africa, Empowered People” as her vision, ICL is on a mission, “To improve the life opportunities and resilience of youth aged 10-34 through strategic empowerment for sustainable development.” Registered in 2004 and working closely with Government, ICL runs diverse evidence-based youth empowerment programs across 26 Counties and has over 20 years’ experience. ICL’s organizational strategy 2023 – 2027 is cognizant of the critical role youth play in the realization of global sustainable development goals, agenda 2030.
It is on this basis that ICL proposes an innovative youth empowerment challenge to empower adolescents and youth using an integrated rights-based approach in Health, Education, Economic Empowerment and Leadership and Governance. The 1 Million Youth Empowerment Challenge! will be accomplished using the Race4Life transformation track that seeks to envision, empower, enable and engage the youth towards sustainable development. In contribution towards the realization of the universal Sustainable Development Goals set to be achieved by 2030, ICL adopted Quadra Helix Development approach, where the four helices: Government, Corporate, Academia and Civil Society are brought together to collaboratively transform communities.
