In some counties like Marsabit and Mandera, the situation is even more alarming, with tree cover at just 2% and 3.6%, respectively. This shortage isn’t just a number; it’s a pressing environmental issue that affects us all.
The consequences of insufficient tree cover are profound. Our changing climate is evident in rising temperatures, increased carbon dioxide levels, soil erosion, and more frequent floods. Without trees, the very fabric of our environment is at risk.
But together, we can make a difference. That’s why I Choose Life Africa has launched the One Million Trees Challenge. This ambitious initiative aims to combat global warming, reduce carbon emissions, create job opportunities, and improve livelihoods across Kenya.

Imagine a thriving Bomet County, where ten model schools collaborate to plant 100,000 trees. With the help of 10,000 enthusiastic students, we’ll be planting a diverse range of trees, including Mango, Avocado, Orange, and other indigenous varieties. Each tree planted represents hope and a step towards healing our environment.
